Run for Hope 2026 · Why we run

Every school year deserves a chance.

Behind the event is a continuing commitment: supporting children whose education is threatened by school fees and a lack of essential learning resources.

The education commitment

The support does not end on race day.

Mercy of Hope Foundation currently supports 75 children through a full school year. Keeping children in class means planning beyond a single term. School fees and learning needs recur, and continued support helps children stay enrolled.

Run for Hope 2026 brings runners, families and partners together to contribute toward the foundation's education goals for 2027. Our target is 100 children in total, including the 75 we already support.

Why education support matters

Barriers outside the classroom can interrupt a child's future.

Unpaid school fees, limited supplies and financial instability at home can make attending school difficult even when a child is ready to learn.

School fees

Education support can help reduce interruptions caused by unpaid fees.

Learning materials

Essential supplies help children take part in everyday school activities.

Continuity

Ongoing assistance matters because school needs extend across the academic year.

One event in a much longer programme.

On Sunday 29 November 2026, people will gather at Karura Forest for Run for Hope. The event raises awareness and support for education beyond the day itself.

It is part of Mercy of Hope Foundation's wider education and mentorship work. Explore the programme to learn how the organization approaches education support.
